Duravit brings color to your life – especially with a palette of six different colors that will let you design your bathroom with a unique look. Hotel One & Only, Reethi Rah, Maldives

The One & Only lends the word “luxury” a whole new meaning. Situated on the North Male atoll of the Maldivian island of Reethi Rah, the resort is a pearl in a chain of coral atolls, lagoons and white beaches.

An organic, all-embracing work of art

The new National Museum has been opened in the Emirate of Qatar in March 2019. The spectacular building by Frenchman Jean Nouvel is intended to evoke associations with a desert rose. The architect explains that he was looking for a symbol for the National Museum - to evoke Qatar’s heritage and future - and considers his design to embody both. The ring-shaped building comprising 53,000 square meters of floor space and rising up to a height of 40 m is sited directly next to the historic palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani, the former Emir of Qatar. This landmark has been redesigned and integrated into the museum as the central exhibition location.

Savannen 12, Gotland

Gotland is a popular Swedish holiday island. It boasts a mild climate and bountiful nature. The coast with its craggy cliffs and solitary sandy beaches and the windswept countryside are ideal for long walks and bicycle trips. Limestone was quarried on Bungenas from 1910 to 1960, after which the peninsula was assigned to military use until around 10 years ago. With its deep limestone quarries, bunkers and derelict houses, the landscape here exudes a rugged beauty.

When sieger design developed the design classic Happy D for Duravit at the end of the 1990s, their vision was to create a modern archetype. Michael Sieger translated the familiar basic form and style elements that informed our notion of a sophisticated bathroom into a contemporary design language. Since that time, the Happy D success story has advanced through a number of stages, repeatedly demonstrating new, forward-looking influences that have little time for fleeting trends. The presentation of Happy D. at the ISH 1999 was an important milestone in the partnership between the two companies, which has now been running for more than 30 years.

Think big: Big little bathroom

Small floor plans do not mean you need to compromise on design freedom. With a creative layout and high-quality designer products, guest bathrooms and cloakrooms can be transformed into oases of luxury. Where floor space is at a premium, the focus is on products in compact dimensions and their arrangement within the room.

A comfortable bathroom doesn’t need a lot of space – what matters are creative ideas and the right products. There are numerous different ways to create additional storage space in the bathroom and find a home for everyday bathroom items both large and small.

SLR Academy residential golf school in St. Leon-Rot

For years the St. Leon-Rot golf club has been a by-word for nurturing young talent and elite sportspeople. With its residential golf school, the SLR Academy now has capacity to take on up to 20 students aged 14 and above. The new “Dietmar Hopp Foundation” building close to the golf course is perfectly located to enable students to balance their academic and sporting goals. Each day features an individually tailored mix of school, training, tournaments, and recreation.

Titisee with Black Forest flourish

Duravit contributes to an innovative toilet concept in the Black Forest. A new-style sanitary facility in the center of the popular resort of Titisee was opened in April by Hochschwarzwald Tourismus GmbH. The brainchild of Managing Director Thorsten Rudolph and fully fitted out with Duravit products, it offers state-of-the-art hygiene and convenience for the ever-growing number of international bus tourists that visit the town. With over 400,000 international guests in 2018 – several thousand visitors a day – a creative and future-proof solution was required.

The Opus

She was a master of organic architecture and the first woman to be awarded the coveted Pritzker Prize, the Nobel Prize of architecture. Today, all over the world, Zaha Hadid's buildings spiral up into the sky, bridge rivers, streets and squares, or nestle into the edge of Russian mountain plateaus. Apparently weightless, her concrete constructions stack layer upon layer of projecting and set-back storeys, seamlessly link assembly line production with office work in Leipzig's BMW factory, and transform ski jumps and exhibition halls into studies on dynamics.

Antonio Bullo

Antonio Bullo was born in 1952 in the town of Chioggia, near Venice, Italy. After studying at the School of Ceramics in Faenza and while still earning his degree in sculpture at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts he began collaborating with some of the most prestigious Italian companies producing ceramics and bathroom furniture. He did not have to wait long for international success, which was manifested, among other things, in the honoring with two Design Plus Awards at the ISH in Frankfurt. Furthermore, Antonio Bullo lectures at the Higher Institute of Artistic Industries (ISIA) in Faenza.

Philippe Starck

When Philippe Starck and Duravit carried out their first joint project in 1994, it was love at first sight, but neither realised how successful this cooperation would be. The breakthrough came with the famous "Starck barrel", which to this day is one of Duravit’s best sellers. "I always said that the bathroom has to become a wet living room. But no one understood me. Apart from Duravit. That's why I love Duravit!"

Christian Werner

As someone who says of himself that he is driven more by the heart or a gut instinct, it is important for Christian Werner to combine the rational with a sensual quality. In all his furniture designs, he tries to give emotions a shape of their own, to translate them into material.

Cecilie Manz

Kurt Merki Jr.

His bi-cultural childhood and upbringing played a fundamental role in shaping his creative approach. Kurt Merki Jr. creates dreams in the form of versatile products that offer solutions for all manner of lifestyles. The Vero complete bathroom collection that he designed speaks volumes with its timeless elegance, and has been the recipient of three awards in quick succession.

Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez

Matteo Thun was born in Bozen (South Tyrol) in 1952. After studying at the Oskar Kokoschka Academy in Salzburg, and at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence, in 1981, he was one of the co-founders of the legendary Memphis Group. Its members questioned the pure functionality of design objects.

Duravit still influences bathroom design. This is largely thanks to the collaboration with Dieter Sieger, which commenced in 1990. A starting signal for us as a manufacturer of designer bathrooms. With the \"Darling\" ceramic series, we set standards and, looking back, can see that we changed the industry. There's no doubt that this required a certain degree of courage, but mainly a love of sustainable design and timeless forms, something that is still apparent today in every Duravit product.

Frank Huster

Frank Huster, born in 1939, completed his studies of architecture and interior design in Stuttgart. In a shared office with Peter Hübner, from 1970 to 1978 he also worked on developing cardboard toys, folded structures, and cardboard screens for the Munich Olympics.

EOOS

EOOS, the likeable Vienna-based design trio, could pass as a boy band. These three designers do not view their ‘threesome’ approach as a hindrance – in fact, they see it as a bonus, as bringing together three different personalities continually gives rise to surprising objects that shape the spaces they inhabit.

Phoenix Design

Duravit and Phoenix Design have been working together for years on innovations for the bathroom. \"Good design is like a puzzle – there are lots of requirements from completely different directions – the task is to take these and create a cohesive whole.\" With Caro, Pura Vida and P3 Comforts, the two partners of many years' standing have certainly made a good job of it.
