Small Bathtubs – Maximum Comfort in a Minimum of Space
Some bathrooms don't have quite enough space to install a classic bathtub. If this is the case, consider installing a small bathtub with an attractive design so that you don't have to deny yourself the pleasure of a soothing bath. With their compact design, these space-saving wonders fit easily into tight spaces and offer individual solutions for many bathrooms that would otherwise be considered (too) small.
Small bathtubs have their own charm even with their compact design. Despite their size, these small tubs they provide maximum comfort with plenty of room to move freely. Small but mighty - because tiny bathrooms can be luxurious too!
Small Bathtubs: Wellness in a Compact Size
Small bathtubs are the ideal solution for anyone who doesn't want to do without the relaxation that only a bath can provide. Where ordinary bathtubs in a small bathroom can almost literally take up the whole room, a small bathtub can really shine. Thanks to their compact dimensions, small tubs can be worked into almost any bathroom layout.
The category of small bathtubs also includes space-saving bathtubs. The name says it all. They have a characteristic trapezoid shape: wide at the backrest area and narrow at the feet. These tubs take up the least amount of free space possible as a result. The shape, which is unique to our space-saving bathtubs, gives you more free space to move around your bathroom and is a genuine design highlight.
Small Bathtubs in Various Designs
Small bathtubs only differ from conventional bathtubs in terms of their more compact design. Duravit has developed various designs for our distinctive bathtubs that also do justice to bathrooms that don't have a lot of extra space.
Size
There is no clear distinction as to the specific size that a bathtub has to be in order to be considered small. With standard dimensions ranging from about 60 to 72 inches long and 27 to 32 inches wide, anything less than about 63 inches long can be considered a small bathtub. The smallest model in our Duravit range, for example, is 55 inches (140 cm) in length. Because the small tub requires less space, it also fits perfectly into small alcoves.
Material
Compact bathtubs can be made either as mineral composite bathtubs or as acrylic bathtubs. Both materials have proven their worth in various bathroom designs. The choice depends mainly on your personal preferences. The comfortable feel of the different materials is impressive and they offer great design options. Mineral composites are usually more commonly found in larger models.
Depending on the layout of your bathroom, a small bathtub in a corner location may be the only possibility. If you want to install a small tub against a wall, there are three different options: You can opt for a back-to-wall bathtub, a version with a left-hand corner, or one with a right-hand corner. This should be taken into account during the planning phase. Even a small freestanding bathtub like one from the D-Neo design series is possible, though this might be a little unusual since it is not really a space-saver despite its compact size.
Small bathtubs are also available as whirlpool bathtubs. The air and water jets will relax tight muscles and take the wellness factor to the next level. They offer the promise of relaxation - even in a small space. Have a spa-like experience right at home and treat yourself to a relaxing break.
By the way: The tub and shower combo from our Duravit Shower + Bath series is the perfect space-saving solution for those who don't have enough space for both a bathtub and a shower.
With a small bathtub from Duravit, you can design your bathroom to be a beautiful and exclusive oasis. You can valuable space this way, so you don't have to give up on your dream of a bathtub. A small bathroom doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility of having a beautiful bathtub. All you need is some well-thought-out, professional planning to make the bathroom of your dreams come true.
